The SharedSchool Foundation
The SharedSchool Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable corporation based in Massachusetts.
Mission Statement of the SharedSchool Foundation
The mission of the SharedSchool Foundation is to award members for sharing their K-12 education content and best practices.
Quality and Access
We want to encourage educators to share their content such that best practices can be discovered by other educators or learners. Too often, access to high quality education content is determined by the ability of the school, teacher, parent or student to pay. Too often, we have exceptional teachers whose practices go unnoticed and whose work goes unleveraged. We want to provide an outlet for exceptional educators to share and be rewarded. We want to provide everyone with ubiquitous access to high quality, user-generated, K-12 education content.
Attribution and Ownership
All of your work remains your own. All of your contributions are governed by Creative Commons Share Alike license. You are free to copy and adapt another’s work as long as (1) the original author(s) are attributed, (2) you use it for noncommercial purposes, and (3) you share your adapted content in the same manner. Complete Creative Commons terms are here.
Members Reward Program
100% of the donations to the SharedSchool Foundation will be awarded to members. Members earn points for contributing high value education content, as determined by their peers on www.sharedschool.com. Awards will be distributed following the end of each calendar year to those members with the highest points for the year. Members earn points when others acknowledge or use member’s content. We use pattern detection software and administrative review to flag unethical behavior and ensure that exceptional teachers are recognized for contributions of legitimate, non-copyrighted materials. SharedSchool officers, employees, their families and affiliates are not eligible to participate or receive this money.
Donations
In the United States, you may deduct donations from your federally-taxable income. 100% of your donations (less PayPal or financial institution transaction fees) will be awarded to teachers. We will provide full disclosure in our annual report. Contact us with questions or comments.
